Everyday I get more and more concerned with Western media. I want to highlight some of the things Ahmedinejad, the president of Iran, says and advocates that you might or might not have heard. Mainstream media is not doing an adequate job in informing us how wrong this man is. What’s worse, beyond all comprehension and in a move that to me is treasonous, CBS just recently positively interviewed this monster in a candid and quaint setting.

First of all, I think it is absolutely deplorable for an American media crew to go and interview a man that has the potential, as a member of Israel’s parliament stated, to be just as bad as Hitler. What I will say myself is that Ahmenidinijad is by far, the most dangerous person on the planet for Jews and the Western World for his rhetoric and his country’s aim to get nuclear capabilities.

What doesn’t make sense to me as that this man is doing all the right things that we in the Western World despise and yet hardly and media outlet will say anything about it. Glenn Beck ( www.glennbeck.com), as over the top his show is, does provide us with some of the needed information on this monstrous leader. Here are some facts about Ahmedinejad.

Ahmedinejad has been very vocal in his belief that the Holocaust is a myth. What is scary is that humans actually start to believe something that is told to them again and again. People are listening to Ahmedinejad because they choose to; anti-Semitism is gaining a larger hold everyday. Why is it that the media can look down upon someone in our own society that denies the holocaust but when this deranged man says it, we go and interview him?

Also, why is it that we also do not report on Ahmedinejad beliefs that a third of the world must die before Mohammad comes back to life and converts the entire human population into Islam. Ahmedinejad believes this. He wants to build a rift between Islam and the West such that there will be a war. Making Iran more militant at the same time failing the state economically does not look like Ahmedinejad wants the status quo to last.

Why is it that in the 18 page letter to George Bush a few months ago, it said that Mr. Bush as well as North America should convert to Islam to avert catastrophe. The media doesn’t even give it 5 minutes. If George Bush told Iran to convert to Christianity, I bet there would be a little more than 5 minutes of coverage.

Why do we give a man time who does not support our ideals of equality and multiculturalism. Our tolerance towards intolerance is stupid, ignorant and naive. Ahmedinejad wants his women gowned up so they can’t succeed and his Jews put down so Arabs have a scapegoat. He is making the Muslim world believe that he is standing alone against their “oppressors…” How come we can go and laugh and gibe with this man, as a CBS reporter did this month, when he stands for everything we think is evil?

Ahmedinejad also just stated that if Iran was attacked, it would not defend itself but attack Israel’s cities. Attack just the cities to try and kill civilians sounds a lot like terrorist activities… and yet, we give him the time of day!

The Arab world was inflamed by a radical Danish Muslim preacher bent on instilling strife between Arabs and Denmark. The Imam goes to Egypt after he unsuccessfully tried to get Denmark’s Muslims rallied behind some “damning” cartoons. He finally adds more insulting cartoons to his collections and goes to Egypt to complete his plan. After his riots for “insulting our religion” killed more than sixty people, Ahmedinejad comes into the pictures and decides it is a good idea to, in retaliation for the Denmark cartoons, host a cartoon exhibit on the Holocaust.

WHAT — THE — F**K?

Is it OK with the Western World for someone to do this? The gentlemen who published the cartoons in the newspaper were not Jewish. What really bugs me is the hypocrisy of it all; the Muslim world got “insulted” but instead of acting like civilized people, they go around, try to downplay the holocaust and publish anti-Semitic cartoons.

The hate and warmongering that this man instills is said by a few to be the beginning of World War III. I think that we should keep a close eye on Ahmedinejad or at least show him for who he really is: an evil fascist Islamist who have even heard that think that we are in a time where

Why do we have to be good these days? Well, it’s not really about “these days” but about all days. I think we should be good because it makes us better the world around us. Furthermore, I also firmly believe that everything we do is selfish. No matter what you do can be categorized as a selfish act. How can I come to this conclusion? Take for instance a man who wants to make his wife feel like one million dollars. He buys her sweets, buys her clothing, sings in her ear and constantly tells her she is beautiful. This man makes his wife incredibly happy and in turn, her happiness makes HIM happy. He is making her happy to make himself happy because he cares for her and loves her. Take another example of an environmentalist: she goes in to traffic and tells people to stop idling their cars. The cause and affect of less pollution from a turned off car helps the environment (by the way, please turn off your cars if you are in a traffic jam) and makes this individual a happier person. The environmentalist has helped something she holds dear to her heart and in the end she became happy from her actions. She is acting selfishly to protect the environment.

We are all acting selfishly no matter what in any situation. We calculate what is the best route to take and what is the best thing for ourselves at all times. Now here comes the tricky part… Why should a person help the environment or give to charity or workout or do anything that we (should) perceive as a positive action when this person does not gain any rewarding feeling? My answer is that this person should not at all do anything without a reward because it would be a waste of time. I think that the proper way for someone to do good things is to feel good after it is done and if you do not feel good then REWIRE your brain to give yourself rewards when you do a good deed.

I cannot say that I have all the answers on how to rewire yourself to feel good by doing a good deed but I can say this: look at the action and the consequence of your action. Try to think of the good things that come out of your positive actions. Pick up litter! Another piece of garbage gone from the sidewalk is another pockmark that people don’t have to see. You are making their day better by doing a good deed yourself. Another easy example is to be mindful of those around you: stand up if an older person gets on the bus. Give your seat this person and allow them the rest they deserve. Feel good about doing this deed and revel in the fact that the people around you saw this deed and might in turn do you a good deed in return. The process starts with you!

Be good selfishly and reward yourself for your good deeds.

My name is Eitan Pinsky and my opinion really isn’t better than yours. You could even say that we can’t classify opinions at all and that no opinion is better than anyone else’s. However, I wholeheartedly dissagree with this statement because when you get down to the root of what an opinion is, it can be anything from which peanut butter brand tastes better (preference) or that all Liberals (Canadian political party) are crooks (belief). Opinions are made up of beliefs and preferences and of faith and through knowledge of a great many things or through ignorance of a great many things.  By being more informed, more open to knowledge and information that could dissagree with your built in views, and by looking at all sides of a problem, one could say that this person has a better view and well articulated opinion.

It is very easy to point out times where one’s views have been bad to say the least. In the Western World, where we have free press, democracies and the ability to live side by side with other cultures and religions, have expanded our outlook and agreed that some views and some opinions are WRONG. Relative to the Western World and the great majority of our population I can show you why some opinions or views ARE better than other’s.

Take for example World War II Germany. We had a great many people who in that day would kill Jews, Gypsys, Gays, Blacks and anybody else who infected the percieved “perfect” Aryan bloodline. We can say, today, that this opinion and view is evil, immoral and disgusting. Unequivocally, this view is WRONG because it does not fit with what our society believes in. We believe in equality and dialouge before conflict. We (should) believe that people are innocent until proven guilty and a many more great values that we take for granted. However, A lot of people in this world have views that, to me, should be contested. People who still are anti-semetic (and there are a growing number of them) have this negative WRONG view. People who think chopping off a man’s hand for stealing a piece of bread! are WRONG and should be educated to have better values (as a point to this, you can argue that this is Part of the Muslim religion and “how dare you say that this religion is wrong,” but I say that these values are outdated and barbaric. It says in the Torah to slaughter animals and burn them for G-D but do we do this today?…) Where would the Western World be if they did not allow dialogue and discourse for proper conduct and views?

I believe that, as an informed and knowledgeable university student, my views and opinions might just be a little more “right” than the person who does not wish to enlighten themselves with the proper information. My goal is to influence people’s opinions and thoughts through speaking my mind in person, in paper and on the web.
